SURVEY FIELD TECHNICIAN


Summary

We are currently seeking a Survey Field Technician for a variety of tasks on survey projects in Southern Maine. The person in this position will assist Land Surveyors in collecting field information as well as assist in data reduction in the office.

Position Requirements

Work primarily in the field on control, boundary, subdivision and topographic surveys on two-person field crews in Maine.

Set up total stations and levels for collection or layout of survey data in the field.

Record notes in the field per company standards.

Perform mathematical calculations and field checking of data.


Education and/or Experience

Minimum of high school diploma and 1 year of experience in the surveying industry desired but not necessary.

Basic knowledge of the terminology and principles of surveying terms.

Degree in surveying and AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Additional Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of basic plan reading.

Must be able to follow directions from the Chief Surveyor and work with minimal supervision when necessary.

Comfortable working outside during all seasons.


Pay:  Commensurate with experience

CIVIL ENGINEER

DESIGNER

BH2M in Gorham, Maine has an opportunity for an entry level Civil Engineer. We are seeking a candidate with experience in professional practice and design related to land development. This position requires the ability to handle significant projects, client and government agency responsibility and effectiveness in working with a team. Responsibilities include design and preparation of site, grading, drainage, erosion control and utility plans as well as design reports. Requirements

· 2 years experience in the profession of Civil Engineering

· Registered EIT

· Experience working in a professional office environment

· Experience with site and roadway geometrics, grading and utility design & permits

· Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service

· Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-pace environment

· Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills, including computer literacy in Civil3D 2015 , Hydrology / Hydraulic design software, word processing, Excel and other standard office software

Civil 3D CAD Technician / Civil Designer  

The design team is responsible for the production and management of a variety of public/private sector projects, including site development, subdivision and municipal & public works projects.

Qualifications 

Candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience and a strong background in Civil Engineering drawings for public water, wastewater, stormwater and roadway infrastructure systems.
 
Responsibilities 

Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed drawings from engineering notes, sketches and or other drawings.  Research and obtain standards/codes required by Clients and Jurisdictions and ensure drawings comply.  Efficiently design and draft the following using AutoCAD Civil 3D:
-  Land Development Plans
-  Zoning Plans
-  Concept Plans
-  Construction Documents
Complete drawing/project responsiblities within scope, budget and schedule.
Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and quality.
Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
Work closely with management and prodcution staff (or design team) to coordinate efforts.


Experience 

This designer must be experienced with AutoCAD 3D 2015 and be familiar with manipulating Paper Space, Model Space, base drawings, "X-Ref" drawings and plot styles.Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members.   Abitlity to produce and edit drawings, site plans, plan & profile and various civil details from freehand sketches by the engineer or based on engineer's instructions.  Strong personal organizational and time management skills as well as a demonstrated ability to schedule work to meet deadlines.  Excellent oral & written communication skills.  Problem solving & decision making skills.  Interacts postively and effectively with people in all levels of organizations.
