SURVEY TECHNICIAN
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years of experience preferred but not required
- Knowledgeable about or the ability to learn the principles and proper maintenance of surveying instruments
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel and occasionally remain overnight
- Ability to assist survey party chief as directed to conduct land surveys
- Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and other functions as required
- Knowledge of or ability to learn mathematics, survey computer programs, and survey computations applicable to the work
- Ability to carry out written and oral instructions, communicate with others effectively, and maintain favorable public relations
CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years preferred in civil engineering design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Word and Excel
- Ability to utilize Civil 3D to develop and produce designs for infrastructure improvement projects that include grading, roadway alignments and profiles, roadway cross sections, and utility profiles
- Ability to prepare layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes and sketches
- Ability to prepare concept, design, and construction plans for review by clients and public agencies
- Ability to work closely with engineers to ensure that coordination is design effort is maintained
- Ability to document progress and project status timely and accurately, maintain organized work and files to allow access of project information by other team members.
PROJECT CIVIL ENGINEER
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- BS degree in civil engineering from an accredited University
- PE preferred but not required (FE required)
- 3+ years in civil or environmental engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and MS Word and Excel
- Experience with roadway design, commercial development site design, subdivision design, and stormwater design and modeling
- Experience with project management, construction inspections, permitting, document quality control, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimating
LAND SURVEY DEPARTMENT MANAGER
BH2M is seeking a Land Surveyor Department Manager to be responsible for the direct oversight and management of field and office work for various types of survey and engineering related projects. This is an onsite position in Gorham, Maine.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible surveying/management experience
- Professional Land Surveyor license in the State of Maine is required
- Experience performing boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, FEMA surveys, topographic surveys and construction layout
- Expertise with GPS and Robotic survey equipment
- Experience with AutoCAD software (Civil 3D experience preferred)
- Driver’s license and the ability to travel on an as-needed basis
- Ability to work onsite in the Gorham, Maine office

Responsibilities:
- Oversight, management, and scheduling of survey field crews
- Perform preliminary research in the office through the Registry of Deeds in preparation for the survey projects
- Compute land survey boundaries and prepare staking files for construction layout projects
- Preparation and review of plats of survey including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, subdivisions, and ALTA surveys
- Effectively communicate survey results to clients and project managers
- Organization and management of survey records and files
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and proposals
